The Rs 100-crore ELF, a 4.2-km strengthened stretch on the Moran Bypass, which was inaugurated by the prime minister, will act as a strategic and multi-functional runway for IAF fighter jets and transport plane, strengthening defence, logistics and catastrophe response, stated official assertion.
The ability is designed for each civil and navy use, serving as an alternative choice to the Dibrugarh airport in case of emergency, they stated.
