Yogi Adityanath accused the critics of spreading false reports about the purity of Sangam water, alleging that these individuals or groups were working with malicious intent to undermine the credibility of the Maha Kumbh Mela. He called out the spreaders of this misinformation for their role in potentially disturbing the peace and the spiritual significance of the event.
The Chief Minister argued that such unfounded reports could have a harmful psychological effect on the pilgrims, who trust the purity of the Sangam waters to cleanse their bodies and souls. He accused these critics of being insensitive to the religious sentiments of millions of Hindus who regard the water of the Sangam as sacred. In his statements, Yogi emphasized that the Kumbh Mela was not just an event but a massive symbol of faith, unity, and spirituality for people around the world.
He further noted that it was irresponsible to fuel panic with inaccurate claims, especially at a time when people are gathering in large numbers for one of the most important spiritual experiences of their lives. According to the CM, this situation warranted collective action against the spread of such false information.
