Union Minister for Street Delivery and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Friday introduced the finishing touch of key protection enhancement works alongside the strategically important NH-44 in Jammu and Kashmir at a value of Rs 171.25 crore. 

 

The challenge concerned with black spot rectification at SIDCO Chowk and the Gole Mela-Sangoor stretch, development of a Restricted Automobile Consumer Trail (LVUP) with carrier roads in Samba, and building of contemporary wayside facilities at Jhajjar Kotli, Qazigund, and Marhama. Those places have been recognized as accident-prone zones and high-traffic saturation issues alongside the freeway.

The works aimed to support visitors flow, permit more secure turning actions, and optimise street geometry to scale back congestion and fortify general protection. The newly evolved wayside facilities supply very important amenities, together with leisure spaces, parking, meals courts, and sanitation products and services for commuters, vacationers, and truck drivers.
