Gunjan Nigam has proved that age is just a number. She is 46 years old, she believed in her dreams and went on to pursue them with grit and determination and emerged victorious in the Royale Mrs India International Classic category as runners-up, held in Dwarka Delhi few days before.
After getting married at the young age of 20, Gunjan fulfilled her dreams more than two and a half decades later .She is the mother of two children, a daughter currently pursuing her MBA and a son who has recently passed class12th. Once her children were grown up, Gunjan decided to step out to make her dream of participating in a pageant, come true. She worked hard for it and with her unique personality, beauty and intelligence, she won the crown of Royale Mrs. India International, runners up. She also won the title of Mrs Elegant.
An avid social worker, she is actively associated with railway women welfare organsiation. She has worked in the education sector in teaching and administrative capacities. She loves to be with kids and nurture them.
Gunjan, while speaking to us mentioned that she would like to set an example for those married ladies who want to pursue their dreams.
“I always wanted to participate in events and I have been actively participating since I was in school. I was quite good at extra-curricular activities. I got married early, at the age of 20. It was difficult initially as my children were young, but once they became older, I decided to pursue my dreams. My family always motivated me to follow my dreams. I want other women to also pursue their dreams and do not let age be a hindrance” Gunjan added.
Born in Meerut and currently living in Jhansi, Gunjan considers herself pan Indian as she has experienced the flavour of living and studying in different cities across India owing to the transferable job of her father and husband. She pursued her post graduation after marriage and currently prefers to juggle her work, her family commitments and pursue her dreams.
