The morning of February 17, 2025, brought a surprising 4.0 magnitude earthquake to Delhi-NCR. With its epicenter located near Dhaula Kuan, the earthquake shook buildings and startled residents, who were still in their homes at the time of the event.
“I was still half asleep when it hit. It felt like a giant had just stepped on the building,” recalled Priya Joshi, a Noida resident. “The walls shook, and everything seemed to vibrate. I quickly ran outside to make sure my family was safe.”
Though the tremors lasted only a few seconds, they left a lasting impression on many. Authorities reported no major damage, but emergency services were immediately activated to assess the situation. Experts emphasized that even relatively low-magnitude quakes can be significant in highly populated urban areas like Delhi-NCR, where even small shifts can create panic.
