BJP Expresses Curiosity Over Rahul Gandhi’s Frequent Vietnam Visits

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has raised concerns regarding Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s frequent visits to Vietnam, questioning the purpose and timing of these trips. BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad expressed curiosity over Gandhi’s repeated visits to the Southeast Asian nation, suggesting that the Congress leader spends more time in Vietnam than in his parliamentary constituency, Rae Bareli.

Prasad noted that Gandhi was in Vietnam during both the New Year and Holi celebrations, further highlighting that the Congress leader had spent a significant amount of time—22 days—there in the recent past. He questioned whether these visits were related to any national security concerns or whether they were part of a larger, unexplained pattern. Prasad’s remarks seemed to reflect the BJP’s growing frustration with Gandhi’s behavior, suggesting that it was unusual for a leader to spend so much time outside the country instead of focusing on his responsibilities within India.

Adding to the criticism, Amit Malviya, the head of the BJP’s IT cell, raised concerns about the timing of Gandhi’s trips. He emphasized that the visits often coincided with parliamentary sessions, which he argued was inappropriate for a Member of Parliament who should be more focused on his duties in the country. Malviya further questioned whether Gandhi’s actions were consistent with the responsibilities expected from someone in his political position, especially regarding matters of national interest and security.

In response, the Congress party defended Gandhi’s travels. Senior Congress leader Harish Rawat explained that Gandhi had visited Vietnam to study the country’s economic model, which is regarded by some as a success in the region. Rawat argued that Gandhi’s trips were meant to observe Vietnam’s economic policies, which could potentially serve as a model for India’s development.

The BJP’s accusations have sparked a political debate, with some questioning the motives behind Gandhi’s frequent travels and others defending his right to explore different nations’ economic strategies for the benefit of India. However, the controversy continues to simmer, with both parties exchanging verbal jabs over the matter.

This ongoing discussion underscores the broader tensions between the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress party, with political leaders continuing to scrutinize each other’s actions on both domestic and international fronts.
