Anupam Kher’s “Tanvi The Great” Honoured with FIPRESCI India Award

Veteran actor-director Anupam Kher’s latest project Tanvi The Great has been awarded the prestigious FIPRESCI India Award for Best Feature Film at the 2025 Jagran Film Festival. The recognition highlights the film’s impact and critical acclaim within Indian cinema.

The film, which also explores themes of resilience and inclusion, stars Shubhangi Dutt in a leading role alongside Kher and features a diverse cast and international collaborators. Acknowledging the accolade, Kher expressed gratitude to the jury, his team and audiences saying the honour “reflects the powerful voice of storytellers who challenge norms.”

Industry observers say that the recognition could further boost the film’s visibility in international markets and encourage similar Indian films to aim for global festival success. As Tanvi The Great continues its festival run, the award signals that Indian independent and message-driven cinema remains capable of garnering top-tier critical attention.
