Uttarakhand: NDRF Rescues 32 as More Than 40 BRO Workers Remain Trapped After Avalanche in Badrinath

In a catastrophic event in the Badrinath region of Uttarakhand, an avalanche buried several workers of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) under a blanket of snow. Over 40 workers are still missing, prompting the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to send four teams for rescue operations. As of the latest updates, 32 workers have been successfully rescued from the debris.

The avalanche occurred in a remote mountainous region, making it extremely difficult for rescue teams to navigate. The BRO workers had been working on the construction of roads in the area when the snowstorm struck unexpectedly. The first responders, including NDRF and local authorities, immediately started to clear snow and debris in an attempt to locate survivors.

Temperatures in the region have dropped significantly, complicating the efforts of the rescue teams. Despite the challenges, the teams have managed to recover 32 workers so far, and more are expected to be found as the search continues.

A coordinated effort involving the Indian Army, the local police, and the NDRF is in place to increase the efficiency of the search. The rescue operations are expected to continue through the night, aided by search dogs and high-tech equipment.
