Fact Check Policy

At IndiaHunt, factual accuracy is the foundation of our journalism. We are committed to publishing verified, reliable and evidence-based news across all categories. This Fact-Check Policy outlines how we verify information, handle corrections, and ensure transparency with our readers.

1. Our Fact-Checking Principles

We follow these core principles in every news report:

  • Accuracy: Information must be correct, complete and verifiable.
  • Transparency: Sources, claims and key facts must be clear to the reader.
  • Independence: Fact-checking is free from political, commercial or personal influence.
  • Accountability: Errors are corrected promptly and transparently.

2. Verification Process

Before publishing any article, our editorial team performs a strict verification process:

a. Source Reliability

We verify information using:

  • Government documents
  • Official statements and press releases
  • Verified social media handles
  • Court or public records
  • Credible agencies and reputed publishers
  • Direct interviews or communication

Unverified claims, anonymous rumors or content from unreliable sources are not published.

b. Cross-Verification

Each major fact is cross-checked through:

  • Two or more independent sources
  • Multiple agency reports
  • Direct contact with relevant authorities when necessary

c. Contextual Accuracy

We ensure the information is not:

  • Misleading
  • Taken out of context
  • Missing crucial details
  • Edited in a way that changes its meaning

3. Use of Images & Media

  • Images and videos are checked for authenticity.
  • Reverse image searches are used to avoid misleading or outdated visuals.
  • AI-generated visuals, if ever used, are labeled clearly.

4. Distinguishing News from Opinion

  • Factual stories rely on verified information.
  • Opinion pieces are clearly labeled as opinions and do not represent factual reporting.

We do not mix opinions with factual news.

5. Handling Misinformation

IndiaHunt follows a zero-tolerance policy for misinformation:

  • We do not publish satire, parody or unverifiable claims as news.
  • We avoid sources known for hoaxes or false reporting.
  • If misinformation is identified in any article, we immediately update or correct it.

6. Corrections & Updates

If errors are found:

  • They are corrected promptly after verification.
  • Updates include a timestamp or correction note where necessary.
  • Significant corrections follow our Corrections Policy.

7. Responsibility for Legacy Content

Articles published before 20 November 2025 were produced under Xpert Times Network Private Limited, the previous owner of IndiaHunt.
Any factual inaccuracies, legal disputes, or takedown requests related to that period remain the responsibility of the former owning company.

8. Reader Participation
